The Stratford Housing Authority is a quasi-public corporation that was established in 1943. A Board of five Commissioners, appointed by the Town Council, is responsible for oversight and establishing policy.

The mission of the Stratford Housing Authority is to provide affordable housing to low and moderate income families and senior citizens.

The Authority owns and manages 514 family and elderly apartments, and, through the Federal Housing Choice Voucher Program, assists another 280 families residing in private apartments in the Town of Stratford.
